Longarm Quilting Services

Edge-to-Edge quilting services are available at $.025 per square inch for standard designs, and $.035 for dense designs. Dense designs will be noted in the name of the file in the gallery of available files.

Example quilt estimate for a 50" x 60" quilt: 50 x 60 x$.025 = $75 (plus tax.) There is a minimum charge of $60 for small quilts. An itemized quote will be provided upon request.

Edge-to-Edge designs are included in the cost if currently available in my gallery. If you would like a pattern not offered, I will happily split the cost with you. Patterns range an average of $12-16 each, so your cost would be half that. My favorite places to find E2E files are Intelligent Quilting, My Creative Stitches, Urban Elementz, and Willow Leaf Studios.

LONGARM FILES GALLERY

Batting by the yard can be supplied by you, or purchased from me in inch increments. Batting must be 8 inches wider and longer than the quilt top to ensure proper coverage. Several batting options are available in studio, or can be special ordered from Quilter's Dream on request. Please allow additional time for special orders of batting. Contact me via email to request pricing.

Thread used in my longarming is Glide  trilobal polyester thread and is available in a range of colors. Various shades of gray, white, cream, tan, and black are kept on hand as staples, along with a range of commonly requested colors. There is a $2 charge per bobbin used in your quilt. If the color you would like for your quilt is not on hand, I will split the cost with you and special order, but please be aware that this will add time to your quilt's turnaround time.

Binding services are available upon request. I offer machine attached binding (to the back) and handsewn to the front for $.025 per linear inch. For example, for a 50" x 60" quilt: 50+50+60+60 = 220 x $.25 = $55. This includes attaching labels provided by you. Please include your pre-made binding when sending/delivering your quilt. I can also making binding from the extra backing (if enough remains) or your provided fabric for a $10 fee.

Trimming your finished quilt is offered at no cost. I will square it up and remove basting stitches, upon request. Quilts will not be trimmed unless specified. Any leftover trimmed-off backing fabric in excess of 4 inches, will be returned to you with your quilt.

Payment will be requested in the form of a personalized sales listing via my website after quilting is completed for secure payment. A link will be provided to you for ease of use. Once payment is made, your quilt will be packaged and shipped within 3 business days. If you are local, I will call to arrange a pickup time.

Shipping will be done via USPS priority Flat Rate or UPS, whichever is more economical. $100 insurance will be included but additional insurance is available for purchase at cost. Please request this before your sales listing is created if you wish to add more coverage.

Images will be taken of your quilt during and after the process and will be uploaded with your sales/payment listing. You may request for me to email them to use as you wish. I also request permission to use them on my social media on the quilting request form.

Turn around time is currently around 3 weeks, but may vary depending on season and whether special ordering is required to complete your order.

Quilt Preparation

Please take the time to trim the edges of your quilt top to be as square as possible, and make sure the corners are a 90 degree angle. If your top has many seams along the edge, please do a stay-stitch 1/8" from the edge to secure your pieces together to ensure they do not come apart while loaded tautly on the longarm.

Press seams from the backside, making sure the seams are flat and in desired directions. Loose threads should be trimmed from both back and front, especially behind lighter fabrics, as they will show through to the right side.

If your backing is pieced together, please remove selvage edges and sew with a seam allowance of 1/2", with seams running horizontally, if possible. Press seams open to reduce bulk. Please take the time to fully press the backing, especially the hard center creases. If using a bedsheet for backing, please be sure to use a high quality 100% cotton with no more than 300 thread count. Avoid using a wrinkle free sheet, as the threads are coated and tend to cause thread breakage. If you are concerned about shrinkage, please prewash fabrics before submitting your fabrics to be quilted.

If your quilt top or backing are a directional print, please place a safety pin on the top left corner so I know which way to load it onto the frame.

If it is necessary for me to complete prep work to longarm your quilt, I will complete it at a rate of $25 an hour. You will be contacted prior to starting and quoted an approximate fee or the option to return the quilt items back to you to complete the work.

I look forward to quilting your beautiful works of art!
